EGC Affiliates present research during Climate Week events September 23-27

Events in New York City and London will focus on the economics of climate change in low- and middle-income countries, some featuring livestreams online. EGC faculty affiliates Mushfiq Mobarak and Rohini Pande are among the presenters.

Yale Climate Week

EGC faculty affiliates Mushfiq Mobarak and Rohini Pande will present research in conjunction with international events focused on the environment and climate breakdowns during the week of September 22-29, 2024.

Climate Week NYC is the largest annual climate event of its kind, bringing together over 600 events and activities across the City of New York. It is hosted by Climate Group, an international non-profit, and the event brings together senior international figures from business, government, civil society and the climate sector. Related events take place in New York and around the world to coincide with the United Nations General Assembly. 

Yale @ Climate Week NYC

Hosted by Yale Planetary Solutions at The Yale Club of New York City in midtown Manhattan, events will be held in conjunction with Climate Week NYC. The four-day program will spotlight and drive forward scalable and transformative climate solutions. The opening celebration on Tuesday, September 24 4:30-7:30PM ET will be live-streamed on the Yale Climate Week website, and additional session recordings will be posted at that link after the conference. EGC Affiliate Mushfiq Mobarak will speak on "Developing Evidence-Based Scalable Adaptation Solutions in Early Climate Battlegrounds: The Case of Coastal Bangladesh" on Thursday, September 26. 

LSE Environment Week 2024

LSE Environment Week and Camp bring together researchers from all fields of economics – including development, macroeconomics, industrial organization, public, finance, labour, trade, urban, theory, behavioural, and political economy –as well as environmental, energy, and climate experts. Hosted by the London School of Economics and the International Growth Centre, the event aims to identify and explore innovations to achieve a sustainable balance between human activity and the natural environment while maintaining economic growth. EGC Director Rohini Pande will speak at two events during the week. She will deliver the Master Lecture on Carbon Credits Monday September 23 at 10AM ET (3PM GMT), and she will speak on a panel on "Innovative market solutions to confront climate change" on Tuesday September 24 at 1PM ET (6PM GMT).
